Institute for Teaching and Learning

Created for early- and mid-career faculty, and private practice professionals who are interested in a new career in dental education, the Institute for Teaching & Learning (ITL) is a premier program for educators.

The ITL program goal is to help participants refine teaching skills that will enhance the quality of their interactions with students and develop other skills to facilitate confidence, job satisfaction, and professional growth in the academic environment. ITL participants learn to become master teachers during a four-day program, which includes presentations, group discussions, case studies, role-playing, and practical, hands-on, interactive experiences along with access to the Fundamentals of Clinical Education online course that offers dental CE credits.

The ITL will be conducted in-person on August 25-28, 2025. Location to be announced.

In small groups, engage in a peer coaching session to give and receive feedback from peers. Apply feedback to develop an action plan for addressing challenges as an educator. ITL faculty will help facilitate the discussions.
